Here are the three things you need to do if you have damage to your car's glass and need to file a claim.

First, take a look at what caused the damage. For either of these, file a police report and call your insurance carrier to file a claim .
  • Does it look like vandalism?
  • Were you in a car accident?

You'll follow the normal claims process for all other chips and cracks .
