Just Cause Apparel:  Group apparel

purchases that give back!

Most businesses start with a goal: solve a problem and make a profit.

But Just Cause Apparel is flipping that model. Their mission is simple—show the world there’s a better way to do business.

At Just Cause Apparel, profits aren't the goal; they’re the tool. They donate 50% of their net profits to the customer's charity of choice—helping your company gear up while giving back to a cause that matters.

How it Began

Local cancer surgeon Dr. Scott Porter started Just Cause Apparel as a form of therapy for himself, believe it or not! Being a cancer surgeon comes with many emotional ups and downs. You can save a life in the operating room while also knowing someone is losing their battle with cancer. Dr. Porter felt the need to give to charity as a way to balance these emotions. He wanted to find another way to help people. Prior to starting Just Cause Apparel, Dr. Porter started a charity that was 100% not-for-profit. Unfortunately, he learned the ups and downs of trying to raise money were almost as taxing as the operating room ups and downs. He then realized it might be better to go about it from a different angle. He says, “It dawned on me that if I could sell something and then donate the profits from that sale, I could accomplish all of my goals.”

How it works

Just Cause Apparel sells group apparel for industries such as healthcare, restaurants, the automotive industry, corporate casual, and more. By partnering with brand-name manufacturers, they provide high quality apparel with custom embroidery if needed. Your employees shop the customized online store and Just Cause Apparel collects this information to create a bulk order. 50% of the net profits are then donated to the charity of your choice-your Just Cause. You can work with their existing charity partners or a foundation that is associated with your organization. Just Cause ensures each charity on their list has been vetted by Charity Navigator and GuideStar.

Why Greenville?

Dr. Porter raised his family and practices medicine here. He feels Greenville is an amazing and vibrant entrepreneurial and business friendly community. He thinks this robust philanthropic community is the ideal place to have started a socially conscious, community-first company.

“It really is an amazing feeling to unite true strangers through something as simple as apparel.  On the one hand we have corporations and industries and on the other we have charities and not-for-profits.  We bring them together on our platform at Just Cause Apparel.” Said Dr. Porter.

Just Cause is planning on giving away $150,000 to charities that are beloved by their customers!

Make your next company apparel purchase with Just Cause Apparel and help them reach that number!
