Have you met…

Stewart Hudspeth?

You may know Stewart Hudspeth is our Business Insurance Advisor, but did you know that for a brief time in college he taught break dancing/popping? That’s right! He says on occasion you can still catch him watching YouTube videos of The Electric Boogaloos or J Rock popping!

Roots

Stewart grew up in Columbus, GA and graduated from Auburn University. After graduation, he went to Oregon to work with YoungLife, a non-denominational ministry for youth. He then moved to SC where he spent 4 years at Anderson University coaching men’s and women’s soccer. When he left coaching, he wanted to pursue business opportunities that offered a way to have his work build on itself with repeat clients. Watching his dad build the insurance agency he started in his 20’s sparked an interest in Stewart. He liked the relationships and teamwork his dad built with his clients and partners over 40 years.

Stewart moved to Greenville in 2010 where he still resides with his wife Andrea and 2 year old son, Emmett. After some time working with a large insurance company, he met and began referring business to Andrew Harmon and Miles Merwin. After seeing what they were doing, Miles and Stewart began a two-year conversation that led them to join forces and build the commercial side of Advisors Insurance Agency.

Stewart says, “I never realized how much there was to learn about insurance until I began working as an independent agent. I’ve come to enjoy working with business owners in my community where I can play a small part in growing my clients’ businesses that provides an increasingly better place to live, work and raise my family here in the Upstate”.

Spare Time

When he’s not traveling with his family or playing basketball, Stewart enjoys building furniture and woodworking in his workshop. Whether it’s an episode of This Old House or a time lapse renovation video, he enjoys the art of how things are made.

Words of Wisdom

Throughout his working career, Stewart’s dad has always reminded him one thing. He says, ”Good friendship doesn’t always make good business, but good business almost always makes good friendship.” Stewart reflects on this advice with every business decision.
