Harvest Hopeis a local non-profit building a hunger-free tomorrow in 20 counties across South Carolina, including Greenville and Laurens counties, the Midlands and the Pee Dee region. They began in 1981 when a group of church and business leaders recognized a need and acted.
Harvest Hope provides over 22 million meals annually. They partner with over 330 partner agencies to distribute food to millions of South Carolinians in need each year. Hunger is a problem that is affecting so many of our neighbors and they are on a mission to eliminate hunger and food insecurity in South Carolina. Greenville County has an 11% poverty rate with over 58,000 individuals facing hunger. If there are people struggling with hunger in our state, Harvest Hope, along with three other food banks – Golden Harvest Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina and Lowcountry Food Bank- will be here to help.
Harvest Hope is always looking for individuals who want to give back to those in need. There are many ways you can help-you can make a monetary donation, sign up to volunteer, host a food drive, donate food and more. All of this can be found on theirwebsite. You can also shop theirAmazon wish list!
