Janet Danner Joyful Ornaments

Through the sale of hand painted Christmas ornaments, Janet Danner Joyful Ornaments is a ministry serving women and girls in South Carolina and North Carolina who are battling cancer. These women assist with medical financial needs, day-to-day life expenses, as well as spiritual and emotional care through prayers and serving their families.

Inspiration

The women behind Janet Danner Joyful Ornaments were inspired by God to begin a foundation for women with cancer in memory of Janet Danner. Janet was the mom of a dear friend of the organizing women. They wanted to share her legacy with other women by helping meet their needs when given the news of cancer. This ministry was a Christmas gift to Janet’s daughter, Kyra Lewis. Janet passed away with ovarian cancer. She left behind her only daughter, having met only one of her two precious grandchildren. Janet’s favorite time of the year was Christmas. They felt the best way to honor her memory was at this time of year.

Janet fought cancer for several years and was a lady of grace and courage. Janet Danner Joyful Ornaments aims to pass this message along to others and assist them in times of need. The ornament is a tool with which they get to love these families, while sharing the Gospel of Christ. They believe that with God nothing is impossible. Luke 1:37

How to Help

This great ministry and charitable organization offers many ways for women to get involved. They need volunteers who enjoy being with other women and sharing their gifts and talents in many different areas. Janet Danner Joyful Ornaments appreciates donations, spirit events, prayers and volunteers for many areas of service.

Janet Danner Joyful Ornaments offers services such as rides to the doctor, meals, cards, prayer teams, house or dog sitting and childcare. Additionally, they make, personalize and package the ornaments. The ministry meets weekly and many take ornaments into their homes to paint, stuff bags, cut ribbon, glue sequins, etc.

What the Future Holds

The ministry aims to grow, while also having enough involvement with the community through local businesses, churches and schools to be able to minister well to the families they will serve. There are many opportunities to help with their mission and they want to share these with the community. By sharing the message and vision of Janet Danner Joyful Ornaments, more people will learn about this amazing organization. It may also lead to a lady in need of their services.
